The WFAE offers three types of membership:

• Affiliate Membership (for regional/common-interest organizations, with WFAE board representation)
• Associate Membership (for organisations looking for general association with the WFAE)
• Individual Membership (for individuals)

Currently, seven World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE) Affiliate Organizations represent the interests of individuals and carry out activities in our network according to local, cultural, and national affinities. Together, WFAE Affiliate Organisations, Associate Organisations and Individual Members collaborate in creating a global vision for Acoustic Ecology.

Your annual membership in either one of the WFAE Affiliated Organizations or as an Individual Member provides you with the benefits offered by a regional association and those of the international WFAE.

WFAE membership is renewable, expiring at the end of the calendar year in January. Please note that each Affiliate Organization has its own membership application process and fees.

Benefits and Responsibilities of Membership

• Members support the publication Soundscape: The Journal of Acoustic Ecology.  
• Members are eligible to serve as elected officers on Affiliate and WFAE Boards
• Members may receive special discounts for conferences, workshops, and other events as promoted by an Affiliate or the WFAE.
